Holiday Closing
The Village Hall will be closed Tuesday July 4th for the Independence Day Holiday – Have a Safe & Happy Holiday!!

The Independence Day Parade will be Tuesday July 4th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Road., proceeding south on Cedar Lake Road. to Washington Street,  east on Washington Street to Hainesville Road, South on Hainesville Road to Patriot Way, and east on Patriot Way to Union Square Park.

 The fireworks display will be hosted by the Round Lake Area Park District on Tuesday, July 4th at dusk at the Round Lake Beach Cultural Center.  Come early and enjoy the family fun, food and music.

Illegal Fireworks are prohibited;
the ban will be strictly enforced.

Copies of the Village of Round Lake Park 2017 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report as published in the Lake County News Sun on June 30th is available on our website and by request at the Village Hall.

IL Junior Chefs Camp – Summer Cooking Camp offered by Illinois Nutrition Education Programs and Illinois 4-H will be hosted at the Round Lake Park Village Hall.  Camp 1 July 31 – Aug. 4   Camp 2 Aug. 7 – Aug. 11 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Prescription Medication Drop Off – Prescription medication may be dropped off at the Round Lake Park Police Department Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  If you are unable to bring your prescription medication to the Police Department due to health or transportation issues you may call CenCom 847-270-9111 to have an Officer pick up the medication for disposal.

Remember to call JULIE before you dig at 1-800-892-0123.

 Prevent Pollution – Do not dump any fluids (automotive fluids, soapy water or chemicals) into storm sewers or ditches.  All storm sewers lead to the lake or creeks.

 The Village-Wide Annual Rental Housing Inspections are underway. Owners of Rental Properties please make sure you have scheduled your appointment.  Applications can be downloaded from our website.  For more information or questions please contact Alice at the Village Hall Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

 National Night Out – The Round Lake Park Police Department will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday August 1st from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Round Lake Park Police Department, 215 E. Main Street.  The purpose of National Night Out is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness as well as strengthen the partnership between the police department and the community, so mark your calendar, turn on your lights in support and come join us.

 High Grass/Weeds – Per Ordinance 94.21 it is hereby declared a nuisance for any owner or occupant of any property in the village to permit any weed, grass or plant to exceed 8 inches.

Help Reduce Mosquito Population & Help Prevent West Nile Virus by emptying planters, wheelbarrows and buckets after each rainfall.  Also refill birdbaths with fresh water daily, cut grass weekly and keep roof gutters and downspouts clear of debris.

Shoe & Textile Recycling – The Village of Round Lake Park is proud to be participating in the SWALCO Shoe & Textile Recycling Project.  Shoes may be dropped off at the Village Hall and clothes sealed in plastic bags can be dropped off in the container in the West parking lot of the Village Hall.  A list of acceptable and unacceptable items is available at the Village Hall.

Parking – No motor vehicle, boat, or trailer may be parked on the grass of any property within the village limits.  No overnight parking is allowed on any street within the village from 11:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Street parking is prohibited in the Willows of Greenwood and Lakeview Estates subdivisions at all times.

Selling or Renting? – When selling or renting a property in Round Lake Park, a certificate of occupancy inspection, final water read, and the installation of a back flow prevention device and expansion tank are required by ordinance prior to closing.  New owners/renters must post a $200.00 water deposit and put the bill in their name, proper ID is required.

Water Bills are mailed the 1st of every other month beginning January 1st.  The bills are due the 5th of the following month, and shut off is the 3rd Monday of the due month NO EXTENSIONSTo avoid termination of water service the full payment must be paid before shut off day. PAYMENTS NOT RECEIVED BEFORE OR BY 8:00 A.M. ON SHUT OFF DAY WILL BE ASSESSED AN ADDITIONAL $50.00 AND WATER SERVICE WILL BE TERMINATED.  If water service is terminated, the full balance including the additional $50.00 must be paid in cash, money order, or charge before service will be reinstated.  If your water bill is estimated (EST), please contact the Village Hall immediately to set up an appointment to have the problem assessed and repaired.  If there is a problem with your bill, please do not wait until the bill is due to question it– call immediately.

Hydrant Flushing – The Round Lake Park Public Works will be flushing hydrants May 8th – May 12th

 Round Lake Management Commission’s Annual Lake Clean Up – has been cancelled but will be re-scheduled. Check our website for new date.

The Village of Round Lake Park invites you to join in a Village Wide Garage Sale May 26th, 27th & 28th (NO Permits Required for this event).  Sign up at the Village Hall if you would like your address posted as a participant on our Village Website.

 The Memorial Day Parade will be held May 29th.  Lineup and Opening Ceremony will be at 9:00 a.m. at the American Legion 111 E. Main Street, parade starts at 10:00 a.m.

 Beach opens Memorial Day weekend – Lifeguards will be on duty May 27th – August 13th 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Per ordinance 95.07 children under the age of 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult not less than 18 years old.

Reminder:  Annual Inspection of Residential Rental Properties will be scheduled for June, July and August – Applications are available on our website under Departments/Building & Zoning.

 Tire & Latex Paint Recycling – Wednesday June 21, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lake County Fairgrounds 1060 E. Peterson Rd, Grayslake, IL

Passenger Car, Truck and Tractor Tires accepted – NO RIMS ALLOWED – Fee $2.00 per tire.

Latex Paint (NO oil based paint, spray cans, solvents or leaking cans) – Fees 1 qt can – $1.00 ea, 1 gal can – $3.00 ea, 5 gal can – $10.00 ea.

Payment can be by cash or credit card.

 A Look Back – The Village of Round Lake Park will be celebrating our 70th year Anniversary this year and are looking for pictures of the past from the area.  Pictures can be scanned & e-mailed to the Village Clerk at keggert@villageofroundlakepark.com or brought into the Village Hall to be scanned.

  Yard Waste stickers are no longer required; leaves and grass clippings  must still be in bio-degradable paper bags or a designated container, limbs/branches must be in bundles no longer than 4 feet, 3 feet in diameter and no heavier than 50 lbs tied with twine and put out on regular garbage day.

Electronic Disposal – Groot is offering Curbside Collection for Residential Electronics.  You must call 847-693-2700 in advance to schedule a pick up.

Unused Prescription Medication Collection – The Round Lake Park Police Department collects unused prescription in the front lobby – NO syringes or needles.

ComEd will be Tree Trimming in our area within the next 3 months.
