Profession or Business: I have been a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District since 1987 and currently hold the rank of Lieutenant. I obtained my AAS from the College of Lake County and attended SIU for their BA program in firefighting management.
Personal: I have been a resident of the Round Lake Community since 1970 when my parents moved to the area from Chicago. I attended Murphy School, St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Round Lake Senior High School, class of 1986. My childhood sweetheart Carol and I married in 2011 and have two sons, Mark and Clayton and two daughters, Brandi and Brooke.
Reasons to Serve as Trustee: I was honored to be appointed as Village Trustee in 2014 to fill a trustee vacancy, and was re-elected in 2017 for a four year term. I currently serve as the Chairman for the Public Works committee, the Finance and Code Enforcement & Public Safety committees. I am also an active participant for “Shop with a Cop” and the village’s tree lighting celebration; additionally I was chairman of our Park Festival. With my attained management and leadership skills, I have the ability to focus on the future needs of the community of Round Lake Park.
Accomplishments as Trustee: I have been instrumental in the AA Credit rating recently obtained by the village. Additionally, I led the charge in the restructuring of village debt, ensuring the village was fiscally sound and the employee pensions were adequately funded.
