Duties of the Village Clerk
The Clerk for the Village of Round Lake Park attends required meetings and records a complete account of proceedings in the village journal. The Clerk’s office manages many functions such as publicizing village ordinances; issuing business licenses and liquor licenses; billing for water and sewer; dispensing building permits and vehicle stickers; processing garage sale applications; providing notary services; and several other duties.

Karen was raised in Round Lake Park and has been a resident for most of her life. After moving away in 1995, she returned to her childhood home in 2009.
Karen is quite proud of her family’s history in Round Lake Park. Her maternal grandparents owned the Davis Farm in Round Lake Park, and her great-grandfather Sherman Davis and his family moved here in the early 1880’s. Her great-grandfather Junge moved into Round Lake in the early 1900’s and owned the creamery in Round Lake. Grandfather Davis sold land from his farm in Round Lake Park to enable the railroad to come to this area in 1897.
Her late father once held the position of Village Clerk for Round Lake. Two of her cousins have served as Mayors of Round Lake Park and Round Lake.
Karen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University in 1986 and has held several Human Resources positions in her professional career. She has been employed for over 14 years by Kraft Foods where she currently works in HR Systems.
For several years Karen attended the Community Church of Round Lake where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, youth leader and was on the Board of Directors. She is currently a member of the Chain of Lakes Bible Church where she enjoys participating in choir and the annual Christmas musical.
